IMPORTANT: New Security Rules
Free checked baggage allowance
Each passenger is entitled to the free checked baggage allowance permitted by their fare.
The baggage allowance will be printed on your ticket and will vary in accordance with the special conditions of the fare paid, as well as with the origin and destination of the flight, which will determine whether the “weight system” or “piece system” will be applied.
If no conditions are specified, in general terms:
- With the “weight system” you are allowed 30 kg in Business Class and 23 kg in Economy Class. However, please check your ticket for the conditions of your fare.
- If the “piece system” is applied, your ticket will indicate that you have been granted a PC (piece concept).
Irrespective of the maximum limit for the free baggage allowance or excess baggage, the maximum weight per piece is 32 kg (70 lb).
This restriction is necessary in order to comply with current Health and Safety regulations for baggage handlers. Therefore, if any piece exceeds this weight, you will have to repack your baggage, making use, if necessary, of additional suitcases or travel bags.
If you are on connecting flights with different airlines, please check their baggage allowances as they may differ from Air Europa’s. Depending on the agreements between companies, in some cases it will not be possible to check in the baggage until the final destination.
Infants under 2 are entitled to a baggage allowance of 10 kg. Additionally, a carrycot or fully collapsible pushchair may be transported free of charge. If it exceeds the maximum measurements for it to be transported in the cabin (max. 55 x 35 x 25 cm and 9 kg in weight) it can be checked into the hold.
BEFORE YOUR FLIGHT
When preparing your luggage remember:
- Check the hold luggage allowance permitted by your ticket, hand luggage allowance and excess baggage charges.
- Label your luggage with your personal details and also include a card inside your luggage with these details.
- We do not carry single items of luggage that weigh more than 32 kg (70 lb). If you wish to carry more kilos, distribute your luggage in various bags.
- Do not include fragile, perishable or valuable items in your hold baggage.
