Air Europa SUMA Programme
You can do so through the Air Europa website , accessing the SUMA section or calling us on 902 401 502.
When you sign up with SUMA, you can enter all your information as well as those of your regular travelling companions. Thus, every time you make a booking with us all the information you have provided will automatically be filled in. This will save time in the purchasing process and never need to remember and enter the number of your SUMA card.
Earning SUMA Miles is very simple. They are earned by flying on Air Europa, on any SkyTeam Alliance airlines or by using the products or services offered by the partners who are part of the SUMA programme.
On flights operated by Air Europa, you will earn 2 miles (1) for each €1 you have paid for your ticket. In the rest of the SkyTeam Alliance airlines, the earning of the number of Miles is subject to the distance and class of the ticket fare. There is no equivalence between Miles/euros.
(1) Applicable only on the published fare and fuel surcharge, excluding taxes and other charges such as management fees.
Whenever you like, through the Redeem Miles section of the Air Europa website or by calling us on 902 401 502.You can redeem your SUMA miles for flights, provided there is availability, or for products/services from our partners.
If you do not have enough Miles, you can make a mixed payment with Miles and money, as long as the flight is operated by Air Europa.
Normally, Miles are credited to the customer’s account within 48 hours after the flight is taken. Miles are never counted at the time of purchase of the flight.
No. Each SUMA member gets the Miles for his/her flight, regardless of who made the payment for the ticket. In the event that any of the passengers is not a SUMA member, none of the SUMA members travelling with them may claim that passenger’s Miles to be credited to their own SUMA account.
From 2 years onwards with no upper age limit. However, in the case of registrations of dependent minors, the parents or guardians of the minor must fill out an application form on their behalf. Download the form here and send it to us at the email address: suma@air-europa.com. It is important that before sending the form you have registered the minor using the Air Europa SUMA section or by calling us on 902 401 502.
Air Europa SUMA Card
The SUMA programme offers two card formats: virtual and physical.
- The virtual card is available in the Air Europa APP from the very moment you sign up with the SUMA programme. To access the APP as a SUMA member you need to use the same username and password that gives you access to the SUMA area on the Air Europa website.
- For greater convenience, you can add your SUMA virtual card to the iOS Wallet (1) application on your smartphone or with applications compatible with PKPASS for Android.
- If you prefer to have your SUMA Card in a physical format, you need to apply through the Application for Physical Card section in the SUMA area of the Air Europa website or by calling us on 902 401 502.You can also print it out from the Print Your SUMA Card section.
(1) (Wallet is owned by Apple Inc. ©)
- In both virtual and physical format, the advantages and benefits of the SUMA programme are the same. Therefore, there is no difference in the use you can make of either card. If you want, you can use and combine both, at your convenience.
- The only distinction that can be considered is the way you obtain the SUMA card, depending on the format you choose. To have your SUMA card in virtual format, you only need to access the Air Europa APP through your smartphone and download it. To access the APP as a SUMA member you need to use the same username and password that gives you access to the SUMA area on the Air Europa website.
- Alternatively, to obtain your SUMA Card in a physical format, you need to apply through the Application for Physical Card section in the SUMA area of the Air Europa website or call us on 902 401 502.You can also print it out from the Print Your SUMA Card section.
The moment you sign up with the SUMA programme, you will be assigned a SUMA membership number which will allow you to begin accumulating points and redeeming your miles. You will automatically have a virtual card that you can download in the Air Europa APP.
It is not necessary to have the physical card to benefit from the advantages of the SUMA programme, but if you want it, you need to apply for it through our website or by calling 902 401 502. We will send it to you approximately within 15 days in Spain and an additional week for deliveries outside Spain.
It is only possible to have one SUMA card per member. Miles are accumulated into a single SUMA personal account, which is that of the passenger who is flying, regardless of the reason for the trip, the service used or who paid for the flight.
You need to contact us by telephone on 902 401 502 to request the reissue and dispatch of your new SUMA card in physical format. Remember that you can also download it in virtual form on your smartphone using the Air Europa APP. If the APP does not work for you and you are unable to download the virtual card, contact us to help resolve the issue.
The physical card will be sent to you free of charge, provided that more than 60 days have elapsed since your last card application. Otherwise the shipment will have a cost of EUR XX. This 60 day period is not applicable in the case of an application for a physical card when going to a new level.
Operations with Miles
At SUMA we distinguish between two kinds of Miles:
- SUMA Miles: these are the ones you get for buying flights with Air Europa or any of the SkyTeam Alliance airlines. These are also the ones that you can earn by buying products or services from our partners.
- All the SUMA Miles you collect in your account can be redeemed for airline tickets or other products and services from the SUMA programme.
- Level Miles: these are the ones that allow you to climb levels to reach the Silver, Gold or Platinum categories. They are accumulated for the period of one year. If, during this time, you pass the number of Miles required for promotion to the next SUMA category, you will automatically be promoted to the new level.
- Note that this category of Miles can only be earned with the purchase of flights.

- If you want more information, you can check the other destinations in the section of the Air Europa website.
On the Air Europa website you will find an area dedicated to SUMA. You must be logged in with your password to be able to check all your transactions involving the earning and redeeming of SUMA Miles, which you will find sorted by the date of the flight or service purchased.
Miles are credited to the customer’s account within 48 hours after the flight is taken. After this period you can check them in your SUMA account.
For the rest of the SkyTeam Alliance airlines, Miles can take up to 72 hours after making the flight to be credited to your account, depending on the procedure of the partner company.
- If you have not flown yet, you can provide your SUMA card number through the check-in process on the Air Europa website or Air Europa APP, or at the check-in desk at the airport of origin. You can also submit your number by contacting us on 902 401 502.
- If you have already taken the flight, you need to enter the Air Europa website and go to the Request for Uncredited Miles section. From here you can apply for them, whether it is for a flight on Air Europa or any SkyTeam airline. Our system will credit the Miles in your SUMA account, after checking that the flight was made. You can also make the request by calling 902 401 502.
- Remember that you have a period of six months after the flight to request uncredited miles. However, when you sign up with the SUMA programme, in addition to the six months mentioned, you can also claim the Miles from those flights made in the three months prior to your registration.
- So you never forget to enter the number from your SUMA card, on the Air Europa website we make it easy for you. When you register in SUMA, all your details are recorded, including your card number. Every time you make a booking with us all the details you have provided will automatically be filled in.
Yes. You need to claim them directly from the partner, which will ask you to provide the necessary documentation to credit the Miles. If the application is successful, the same partner will inform us and the SUMA-Air Europa team will credit the SUMA Miles to your account.
SUMA Miles only expire when the member’s account has been inactive for a period of 18 consecutive months. This is understood to be the case when the SUMA member has not registered any transactions, either by not having accumulated Miles on the purchase of a flight or a product from our partners, or failing to redeem the Miles.
The date to be considered for calculating the beginning of the expiry period of 18 months is reflected in your account when you access the SUMA transactions statement.
No. Miles can only be recorded on the SUMA card of the customer who flies.
The SUMA member can redeem miles for tickets on their own behalf or on behalf of another person. Therefore, it is not necessary for the holder of the SUMA card to use the flights or other services exchanged for Miles.
Redeeming SUMA miles to earn a ticket can be done only with Miles or with a mixed payment, combining Miles and money. This mixed redemption can only be used on flights operated by Air Europa. In the case of the SkyTeam Alliance airlines, payment must be made in full with Miles.
To redeem your miles for Air Europa flights, you will need to accumulate a minimum of 1,500 Miles. If you want to redeem your miles for products or services from our partners, you can do so from a minimum of 2,000 Miles.
Only when payment of the flight has been made with a mixed payment, combining Miles and money, you will receive the corresponding Miles for the part you have paid for with money. If you have paid for the flight in full with Miles, then you will not receive any Miles.
Yes. In this case, the customer or natural person who flies earns SUMA Miles and the company still receives the same Air Europa services with the companies programme.

* The number of miles and flights must be performed in 12 consecutive months, without having to take place within a calendar year.
Level Miles are counted which have been earned by flying with Air Europa or any SkyTeam Alliance airline.
Miles are not counted which come from buying the products or services provided by our partners.
No. The computation of Miles or number flights to access a higher level is made taking into account the movements of Miles made in your SUMA account in the last 12 months. From the moment that any movement occurs on your account, the calculation period is reactivated for another 12 months.
When you access a higher level, the Miles or flights used for the calculation are not lost. The Miles only cease to be counted for calculating a level increase when after a period of 12 consecutive months has elapsed, there has been no movement in the product history of the SUMA account.
The calculation of Miles to go up a level is dynamic and is performed whenever new Miles are credited in your SUMA account. At the same time, the period of calculation for the review of access to a higher level is updated for 12 months.
