Booking conditions

The fare conditions vary depending on the booking class purchased. These include the changes and refund policy, as well as the purchase of additional services. See them below.

General conditions

  • It allows for one-way and round-trip flights.
  • Not all fares will be available on all flights.
  • The number of seats available on each flight will be determined by Air Europa alone.
  • The resident discount (Balearic or Canary Islands) will be applied for flights to and/or from the Balearic or Canary Islands (only for domestic destinations) and the resident discount in Ceuta or Melilla for flights to and/or from Melilla, Seville, Jerez or Málaga. Provided the ticket is in accordance with Royal Decree 1316/2001 - 1340/2007 on the treatment of subsidies for residents.
  • If you are a resident and the verification (via the Automatic Resident Accreditation System of the Ministry of Public Works) has not been successfully completed, you must present the necessary accreditation at check-in and at the boarding gate; if you cannot prove your status as a resident, you must purchase a new ticket.
  • Air Europa reserves the right to request the documentation that you have included in your booking in order to verify the authenticity of your data.
  • Due to increased airport security and in the interest of flight punctuality, beginning on 01 March 2006, the check-in deadline will be a minimum of 60 minutes before the scheduled departure for intercontinental flights and 45 minutes for all domestic and European flights.

Instant payment

  • All sales, bookings and charges on a credit or debit card will be carried out simultaneously.
     

Payment by transfer

  • The ticket will be issued after verifying the charge.
  • No additional charge will be made.
  • Transfer expenses will be borne by the payer.
  • Only the booking reference should be entered as the reason for the transfer.
  • The customer must send an email or fax confirming the transfer.
  • After checking that the payment has been made under the established and accepted terms, the ticket will be issued.

 

Additional payment information

  • It may be requested from you at any time for security reasons.

BUSINESS FLEX fares

  • Changes in time and/or date are allowed before departure without surcharge, provided that there are open seats with the same fare. If you book a seat with a different fare, you will have to pay the difference if there is one.
  • Changes can be made at any Air Europa Sales Office at the Airport or by calling the Air Europa After-sales Service or by visiting the website.
  • Name and route changes are not allowed.
  • Cancellations are allowed before departure in J/C class.
  • Subject to possible issuance charges.

 

BUSINESS STANDARD fares

  • Changes in time and/or date are allowed before departure for a fee starting at EUR/USD 60 per passenger, provided that there are open seats with the same fare. If you book a seat with a different fare, you will have to pay the difference if there is one.

FLEX fares

STANDARD ECONOMY fares

  • Changes in time and/or date are allowed for a fee starting at EUR 45 per passenger and flight, provided that there are open seats with the same fare. If you book a seat with a different fare, you will have to pay the difference.
  • Changes can be made at any Air Europa Sales Office at the Airport or by calling the Air Europa After-sales Service or by visiting the website.
  • Name and route changes are not allowed.
  • Cancellations are allowed for a fee starting at EUR 60.
  • Non-refundable in the event the ticket goes unused.
  • Subject to possible issuance charges.

 

Y, B, S, R, U fares

  • Changes in time and/or date are allowed without a penalty, provided that there are open seats with the same fare. If you book a seat with a different fare, you will have to pay the difference.
  • Changes can be made at any Air Europa Sales Office at the Airport or by calling the Air Europa After-sales Service or by visiting the website.
  • Name and route changes are not allowed.
  • Cancellations and refunds are allowed.
  • Subject to possible issuance charges.

BUSINESS FLEX fares

  • Changes can be made at any Air Europa Sales Office at the Airport or by calling the Air Europa After-sales Service or by visiting the website.
  • Name and route changes are not allowed.
  • Cancellations are not allowed.
  • Subject to possible issuance charges.

 

FLEX fares

  • Changes in time and/or date are allowed without a penalty, provided that there are open seats with the same fare. If you book a seat with a different fare, you will have to pay the difference if there is one.
  • Changes can be made at any Air Europa Sales Office at the Airport or by calling the Air Europa After-sales Service or by visiting the website.

STANDARD ECONOMY / Lite fares

  • Changes in time and/or date are allowed before departure for a fee starting at EUR 150 (or USD 175) per passenger, provided that there are open seats with the same fare. If you book a seat with a different fare, you will have to pay the difference if there is one.
  • Changes can be made at any Air Europa Sales Office at the Airport or by calling the Air Europa After-sales Service or by visiting the website.
  • Name and route changes are not allowed.
  • Cancellations are NOT allowed.
  • Subject to possible issuance charges.

Passengers who are not successfully verified through the Automatic Resident Accreditation System of the Spanish Ministry of Public Works must prove their residence status with one of the following documents:

The residence certificate must be issued according to the form defined in Annex I of Royal Decree 1316/2001, also known as the "travel certificate". This certificate is valid for six months.

 

Spanish residents

  • These must present the residence certificate issued by the city government, accompanied by their national ID or passport as an identification document. Spanish citizens under 14 years of age who do not have a national ID will only have to present the residence certificate issued by the city government. If you are resident of Ceuta or Melilla, you can benefit from this discount on flights to/from Seville, Málaga or Jerez, combined with carriage by sea to Ceuta, presenting, in addition to the resident accreditation, the ticket for carriage by sea.
  • Members of parliament or senators: credentials certifying the status of a member of parliament or senator.

 

Foreign residents

  • These must be EU citizens (Germany, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic and Sweden) or citizens of signatory countries of the European Economic Area agreement: Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Switzerland. These must present the residence certificate issued by the city government, accompanied by their national ID or passport as an identification document.
  • Non-EU citizens: Certificado de Empadronamiento para Viaje (Municipal Registration Certificate for Travel) issued by the city government, together with the Spanish resident card, stating the family situation of the EU citizen, or the long term or permanent residence.
  • In all cases, Spanish or foreign nationals must display the accreditation at check-in desks, as well as at the boarding gate, otherwise they will not be able to use the ticket with the discount applied and must purchase a new ticket.
  • These documents will only be effective for the purpose of accrediting their residence, when they are in force.

Conditions

  • Reserving a seat in advance is optional. It is subject to seat availability at the time of request and is applied exclusively in flights operated by Air Europa and Air Europa Express to individual passengers with previously issued flight tickets.
  • The use of a selected seat cannot be unilaterally transferred from one passenger to another.

 

Changes

  • Any change to the selected seat is permitted when the air fare paid by the customer allows it. In accordance with the conditions of the fare, passengers who decide to change to another flight may choose an equivalent seat (normal or XL) on the new flight. However, if no similar seats are available, the amount paid will not be refundable.
  • Once the seat has been selected and the service paid for, the seat selection for the same flight cannot be changed until 4 hours prior to the scheduled departure time. Any change can be requested through the Customer Service Centre or at the airport check-in desk.

 

Refunds

  • Charges for the seat selection service are not refundable except in the following circumstances:
  • There is a change of aircraft by Air Europa and an alternative seat similar to the reserved seat cannot be provided.
  • The flight is interrupted, resulting in a change of plane and the circumstances of the previous paragraph exist.
  • When a passenger who has selected an emergency seat is affected by circumstances that prevent them from occupying this seat.
  • Refunds will be issued using the same method of payment that was used to reserve the seat.

 

XL seats

  • XL seats provide extra legroom between the back of the seat or bulkhead in front. The other seats have standard legroom.
  • To see the fees for this service, go to this section.
  • Air Europa offers a service that permits passengers, by means of the payment of the corresponding fee shown on the website, the option of boarding before other passengers who have not paid for this service. This right will be notwithstanding the boarding priority of passengers flying in Business class or holders of the SUMA Gold or Platinum card.
  • This service is not refundable.
  • The Priority Boarding service is offered during Online Check-in.
  • The use of this service is non-transferable from one passenger to another. Changes to the Priority Boarding Service are permitted when the air fare paid by the client permits changes. In accordance with the terms and conditions of this fare, if a passenger decides to change to another flight in which this service is not applicable, the amount paid will be refunded.
  • If the client wishes to make a second change, a penalty fee will be charged.

Air Europa offers you the possibility of booking additional luggage, whether you have luggage booked or not. You can check your baggage allowance here and see if there are any additional baggage limitations for your flight.

  • You can purchase additional luggage up to 2 hours before your flight departure during the purchasing process or through the booking management page by entering your booking reference and surname(s), or by calling our customer service on 911 401 501 or, if you prefer, through our social media profiles on Facebook or Twitter.
  • Prices for additional luggage on domestic flights are from €30 or €15 if you are a resident of the Balearic Islands or Canary Islands.
  • You can request additional luggage on all long-haul Air Europa flights from €100 if you book online.
  • Booked additional luggage is not refundable.
  • The additional items that you book must weigh less than 23 kg; if you exceed this limit, you must pay for the excess luggage of that item at the airport. In any case, the maximum permitted weight is 32 kg. No item can weigh more than 32 kg. If this limit is exceeded, the excess must be packed into a new piece of luggage subject to payment of the corresponding excess luggage.

FLIGHT CHANGES

If there is a change to your flights, you must contact us through our Customer Service, Facebook or Twitter. There are two situations:

  • Involuntary changes: if Air Europa changes the flight date and the price of the insurance policy is affected, passengers will not be charged anything.
  • Voluntary changes: in this case, you need to contact us by phone or social media to see if the flight change affects the price of your insurance policy.

FLIGHT REFUND REQUEST (CANCELLATION INSURANCE)

You should contact us by phone of social media to submit a request. Air Europa will process your refund request in accordance with the terms and conditions of the selected airfare. The non-refunded portion must be requested directly from Allianz.

WHAT DOES THE CHANGE OPTION LET YOU DO?

  • You can change your flight once up to 2 hours before your flight departure time with no administration costs or penalty fees.
  • If there are no seats available in the same cabin class, you must pay the difference.
  • The Change Option may be used for the outbound and return flight provided that the request is made in the same telephone call.
  • You can change the flight date and route.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • The Change Option can only be selected when completing your booking or on the same day of the purchase.
