Conditions for transporting batteries

Are you planning on bringing a battery-powered electronic device? See the information on transporting it in this section.

Battery type

Batteries are used to supply electrical current to the electronic devices we use daily. They can be made of different materials and sizes, so their method of transport may vary:

*Only a maximum of 2 spare batteries (between 100 Wh and 160 Wh) per person is permitted in hand luggage. Battery-operated equipment is permitted in hand luggage or in checked baggage in the hold with the approval of Air Europa. For additional information, please contact your travel agency, the Air Europa Bookings telephone number 911 401 501, via www.facebook/AirEuropa or twitter.com/AirEuropa.
A maximum of 15 devices and 20 spare batteries per passenger, less than or equal to 100Wh is permitted. This limit may be exceeded with approval from the airline — always check carriage options with the company if you plan to transport equipment operated by lithium batteries in your checked baggage; - Always protect spare batteries by insulating the terminals to prevent short circuits in lithium batteries, placing insulation tape on exposed terminals or placing each battery individually in a plastic bag, protective bag or original retail packaging.- -Do not place any spare battery in your checked baggage in the hold; - Whenever you can carry your lithium battery-powered devices in your hand luggage; - If you charge your devices during the flight, always keep an eye on them, never charge them while you sleep; - Always disconnect the connector from the electrical socket when charging is complete; - Never move your seat if your device has slipped/trapped between the seat frame. Always notify the cabin crew for assistance; - It is not permitted to transport damaged lithium batteries or use them in your device on the aircraft.
