These are our requirements and recommendations for flying when pregnant.

Are you pregnant?

Air travel is not recommended for women beyond the 36th week of pregnancy (32 weeks for twin pregnancies without complications). However, if you who need to fly after this time you must consult your doctor, who will decide whether you are fit to fly.

Embarazadas

In the case described above, an official medical certificate, issued within 10 days before the flight, must be presented on the day of the flight. This shall include the following information:

  • Fit to fly (for the outbound and return flight).
  • Number of days of the pregnancy (based on the date of issue of the certificate).
  • Estimated date of birth.
  • First birth or not.
  • Single/twin pregnancy.
  • Any complications of the pregnancy.

Questions about pregnant women

Air travel is not recommended for women beyond the 36th week of pregnancy (32 weeks for twin pregnancies without complications). However, pregnant women who need to fly after this time must consult their doctor, who will decide whether they are fit to fly.

In this case, the medical certificate must contain the following information:

  • Cleared to fly (for the outbound and return flight).
  • Number of days of the pregnancy (based on the date of issue of the certificate).
  • Estimated date of birth.
  • First birth or not.
  • Single/twin pregnancy.
  • Any complications of the pregnancy.

Any other cases and exceptions must be authorised by the Air Europa medical service.
