Only small amounts of liquid are permitted in hand baggage. These liquids must be transported in containers with a maximum capacity of 100 ml. Each passenger can bring a maximum of 1 litre.
Any of the following substances, or any substances with a similar consistency, can be considered liquids:
You can buy these substances in stores at the airport (after going through security) or during your flight, and carry them as hand luggage.
You can bring medicines and baby food in your hand luggage for use during the flight. These items should be placed in a transparent bag and must be presented separately at security.
On Air Europa flights and other European airlines, security regulations state that liquids, gels, creams, aerosols and similar products in hand luggage must be carried in individual containers of a maximum of 100 ml, placed inside a transparent resealable bag of up to 1 litre capacity. Each passenger may carry only one bag, which must be presented separately at the security checkpoint. These restrictions apply to all airports in the European Union and most international destinations, ensuring a safe and smooth boarding process.
There are exceptions to the 100 ml hand luggage rule. Baby food, breast milk, sterilised water for babies and liquid medicines needed for the journey may be carried in larger quantities, provided they are presented at security control and, in some cases, accompanied by supporting documentation. These products must be placed in a transparent bag and shown separately at the checkpoint. In addition, you may carry duty-free purchases made at airport shops (after security control) or on board, as long as they are in a sealed bag and accompanied by the receipt. These exceptions allow passengers to travel with essentials while maintaining mandatory safety measures.
Alcoholic beverages
The alcohol content must not exceed 70%.
Alcoholic beverages contained in sales packaging with an alcohol content of between 24% and 70% may be transported in containers no larger than 5 litres, with a total limit of 5 litres of alcohol per passenger.
Drinks containing 24% alcohol or less (including non-alcoholic beverages) are not subject to any restrictions for transportation in the aircraft hold. However, these items are subject to the following conditions:
The transport of more than 5 litres of liquid per passenger is subject to approval by Air Europa.
Air Europa does not accept any liability for the breakage of liquids or fragile items in checked baggage, even if the items are transported in special packaging.
Olive oil
The transport of olive oil is restricted on Air Europa flights to prevent spillages that could damage or endanger the aircraft.
Olive oil will not be accepted on Air Europa flights unless the following conditions are met:

Limitation of liability:
For security reasons, on flights to the USA, it is prohibited to carry powdered substances of 350 ml (12 oz.) or more in hand luggage, in the passenger cabin.
In general, powders of any kind may be transported in checked baggage, provided that containers are properly sealed to prevent spillage.
These measures have been requested by U.S. authorities. For more information: www.tsa.gov.
It is not permitted to carry powder containers equal to or greater than 350 ml (12 oz) in the cabin. Smaller containers may be transported but may require additional screening at security checkpoints.
Powders include products such as flour, sugar, ground coffee, spices, powdered milk, infant formula, cosmetics, and similar items.
Exceptions: prescription medicines, baby food, human remains, and duty-free items purchased in a sealed STEB bag.
There are no quantity restrictions for powdered substances in checked baggage.
For those traveling with powdered foods, supplements, or larger cosmetic products, checked luggage is the safest and most practical option to avoid issues at cabin screening.
For a quick and effective security screening, passengers must:
Air Europa allows the transport of up to 2.5 kg of dry ice per person, subject to authorisation.

For flights departing from Spain and other EU countries, Air Europa follows EU aviation security rules that limit liquids in hand luggage: each container must be no larger than 100 ml and all containers must fit inside a single 1-litre transparent, resealable bag, which should be presented separately at security checkpoints. These measures—applied across EU airports—help ensure passenger safety and speed up screening procedures while allowing exceptions for essential items such as prescribed medicines, baby food and duty-free purchases in sealed STEB bags.
At all Spanish and EU airports, passengers must present their liquids separately during the security screening process. Liquids must be placed in a resealable one-litre transparent bag and shown separately from hand luggage. Security officers may request additional inspection for certain products.
All liquid containers, along with electronic devices such as laptops, tablets, and power banks, must be placed in a plastic tray at security checkpoints. This ensures clear visibility under X-ray scanning and speeds up the passenger flow through security controls.
Although new-generation C3 scanners are being progressively installed in Spanish airports, the 100 ml liquid rule remains in force as of September 2025. The European Commission has temporarily reintroduced this restriction across all EU airports to maintain uniform security measures until the technology is fully deployed and standardised. This means that passengers must still comply with the 100 ml limit, even at airports equipped with C3 scanners.
To comply with current EU and Spanish rules, pack all your liquids, gels, aerosols and creams in containers of no more than 100 ml each. Use a single transparent resealable bag of up to 1 litre to hold them. Place this bag in an outer pocket of your hand luggage so it can be easily accessed at security checkpoints.
Ensure that caps are tightly closed and that bottles or tubes are properly sealed to avoid leaks. If you use travel-size containers or re-usable bottles, label them clearly to identify their contents. Always choose containers designed for travel — small, spill-proof, and leak-resistant — and keep them in your carry-on where they’re visible for inspection.
