General Terms and Conditions

Access your account or register with the best loyalty programme.

The purpose of the Air Europa SUMA Programme (hereinafter the Programme) is to reward the loyalty of Air Europa SUMA members by allocating Miles that can be redeemed for services or products offered by Air Europa, SUMA partner airlines, and non-airline partners.

The Miles earned by individuals by participating in the Programme can be used to purchase flights and other products and services offered by Air Europa and other Companies affiliated with the Programme (redeeming Miles). Flights, products and services may be referred to in the Terms and Conditions as "awards".

AIR EUROPA SUMA CUSTOMER

It is the natural person who registers in the Program and who, accepting these General Conditions, will assume the commitments and benefits as an Air Europa SUMA customer in force at any given moment.

PREMIUM TICKET

Air ticket on flights operated by Air Europa or Air Europa Partners whose value can be paid in Miles, or part in Miles and part in cash, according to the conditions offered by Air Europa SUMA.

MILEAGE REDEMPTION

Operation by which the Air Europa SUMA client uses or redeems the SUMA Miles he/she has earned and registered in his/her Air Europa SUMA account as a passenger of Air Europa, of other airlines that are part of the Program or any product or service available that generates SUMA Miles. The Air Europa SUMA customer can redeem SUMA Miles through the Air Europa website or by calling the Air Europa SUMA Call Center, 911 360 360 200.

REGISTRATION FORM

This is the application for registration in the Program that is available on the Air Europa website or by calling the Air Europa SUMA Call Center, 911 360 200. This application requires the data of the natural person that will form part of the automated file or not of personal data for which Air Europa is responsible and which is regulated according to the requirements established by the current legislation on data protection and shall be governed as described in section 10 "Privacy Policy" of these general conditions. This form is the first step to join the Air Europa SUMA program.

SUMA MILES

Currency used in Air Europa SUMA to obtain a reward for flights taken and the purchase of products or services from Air Europa and the Program Partners, and which generate rewards according to the detailed information in force on the Air Europa website. Miles are also the currency used to redeem them for Air Europa award tickets, Air Europa Partners and products or services included in Air Europa SUMA and provided by the Partners.

AIR EUROPA SUMA LEVEL MILES

These are the Miles used to establish the level of the Air Europa SUMA customer. They are earned on Air Europa flights and those of the airlines belonging to the SkyTeam Alliance.

REDEEMED MILES

Miles that have been used or redeemed for tickets or services awarded by the Air Europa SUMA customer.

MILES AVAILABLE

Miles accrued in the Air Europa SUMA account of the Air Europa SUMA customer that can be redeemed for available award services.

AWARD SERVICES

Services offered by the Program that can be redeemed with Miles. Services offered by the Program redeemable with Miles.

Natural persons, regardless of their country of residence, who register with Air Europa SUMA in accordance with the current membership form, may participate in the Programme. Legal entities may not register with Air Europa SUMA. Registration and permanence in Air Europa SUMA according to the general conditions is completely free of charge and for an unlimited period of time, without prejudice to the provisions of these conditions regarding its termination.

Enrolment in the Programme presupposes the acceptance of the present conditions, as well as their future modifications. Among other data, a valid and unique e-mail address will be required for each customer in order to confirm the registration process.


The Air Europa SUMA client will receive, once the formalities established in these conditions have been fulfilled and at the e-mail address indicated in the registration form, a link that must be accessed to activate their Air Europa SUMA account for access to personal and confidential information of the Air Europa SUMA client. Air Europa may ask natural persons, Air Europa SUMA customers, whenever necessary to fully formalise their registration in the Programme, to send a copy of their DNI / NIF / Passport or valid Resident Card.

Once the established requirements have been met, Air Europa SUMA will send an e-mail with confirmation of registration in the Programme and an Air Europa SUMA customer number which must be provided when making reservations in order to obtain Miles in accordance with these Conditions.

The Air Europa SUMA customer will be responsible for the veracity of the data provided to the Air Europa SUMA Programme and for compliance with these Conditions. Air Europa SUMA undertakes that the data provided by the natural persons who are clients of Air Europa SUMA, as a consequence of their participation in the present Programme, will be used in accordance with the provisions of the current legislation on Data Protection as described in section 10 "Privacy Policy" of the present general conditions.

The Air Europa SUMA customer expressly accepts that the data and information provided in the bookings made through the Programme may be used to provide services or products related to the Programme, such as obtaining and redeeming Miles, as well as for the management of the Programme itself.

The Air Europa SUMA customer number provided by the Programme is a unique number per Air Europa SUMA customer and must be included in all flight reservations made or purchases of non-airline products and services that can generate Miles so that these can be recorded in the Air Europa SUMA accounts of Air Europa SUMA customers.

Air Europa SUMA reserves the right to block the Miles account and demand the pertinent responsibilities from the SUMA client in the event of improper or fraudulent use of the Programme or non-compliance with the rules and procedures contained in these General Conditions. Considering the very personal nature of the services provided by Air Europa SUMA, the commercial use, resale or offer of tickets to third parties is strictly prohibited, as well as any profit-making activity related to them or their inappropriate use.

The benefits offered by Air Europa SUMA are compatible and can be accumulated with those of the Air Europa Companies Programme, so that the same flight will mean the accumulation of the corresponding Miles for the Air Europa SUMA client and, if applicable, Points for the company in the Air Europa Companies Programme.

If the Air Europa SUMA customer so wishes, they may terminate their participation in the Programme through the Air Europa SUMA section of www.aireuropa.com.

The cancellation will be effective within a maximum period of 72 hours from receipt of the notification by Air Europa, who will cancel the account and the Miles of the Air Europa SUMA customer.

In the event that the Air Europa SUMA customer does not carry out an operation to obtain and/or redeem Miles in the Programme within a period of twenty-four (24) months from the last operation noted, the full balance of the Miles accumulated will expire, and therefore the customer will not be able to redeem them. Air Europa reserves the right to modify this period, communicating it in the Air Europa SUMA section of www.aireuropa.com.

In the event of the death of a customer, Air Europa SUMA will cancel the account and all accrued Miles after receiving the death certificate at suma@air-europa.com.

The acceptance of the present Conditions by the Air Europa SUMA client implies the acceptance and express authorisation of Air Europa to record in their entirety, by means of any technically valid support for this purpose, the telematic communications and instructions, by voice or any other means, produced during the use of any service of the Programme and accepts their probative value in or out of court. In any case, the user may obtain a copy of the aforementioned.

Air Europa will provide Air Europa SUMA customers with access to the statement of movements and balance of the Miles account, as well as other promotions, benefits and services in force.

The email address for sending communications will be the one indicated by the Air Europa SUMA customer on the registration form. At any time, the Air Europa SUMA customer may request the modification of this email address.

If there is any incorrect information in the statement or if there is any doubt about the promotions in force, the Air Europa SUMA customer may contact the Air Europa SUMA Customer Service Centre by email (suma@air-europa.com) or by telephone, where he/she can find out how to make a complaint.

Those flights, or other purchases of products or services made by the Air Europa SUMA customer that have not been identified with the Air Europa SUMA customer number will not earn Miles.

SUMA Miles and Level Miles are non-transferable and cannot be transferred to another cardholder or to another Loyalty Programme.

For security reasons, the Air Europa SUMA Programme is not authorised to access the confidential information of the passenger lists per flight.

The Air Europa SUMA Programme is basically carried out in a web environment, through the Air Europa SUMA section of the Air Europa website. However, the Air Europa SUMA customer will have an Air Europa SUMA Programme Call Centre at their disposal for any queries they may have. The telephone number is 911 360 360 200 and is operative from Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 21:00 and Saturdays from 09:00 to 14:00. We also provide Air Europa SUMA customers with the e-mail address suma@air-europa.com.

The registered Air Europa SUMA client must inform the Air Europa SUMA Programme in a reliable manner and as soon as possible of any modification in the data and information provided to the Programme, and must also guarantee the accuracy of the data and information provided, being responsible for any inaccurate, incomplete or out-of-date information.

For those modifications of personal data, the established rectification procedure will be followed, in which the necessary accreditation will be requested.

Air Miles are earned on Air Europa flights or any airline associated with the Air Europa SUMA Programme. Charter flight tickets, those flown in Miles redemption classes and those for which there is no ticket number on the reservation will not accrue Miles and coupons for the change of level will not be counted.

The total number of Miles to be earned will be calculated by the amount paid by the Air Europa SUMA customer. Miles will be earned for each euro paid exclusively for the published fare basis and the fuel surcharge. Fees, taxes, Public Patrimonial Benefits (PPCP) or similar, as well as other charges, including handling fees, will not generate Miles.

Similarly, in the event of an upgrade to Business Class, Miles will be earned for the amount paid corresponding to the difference in fare, but not for any penalties or additional charges that the change may apply.

In the case of a ticket purchased with mixed payment (cash + SUMA Miles), Miles will only be earned for the total amount paid in cash. Payments made with SUMA Miles will never be valid for earning. 

The Miles earned on Air Europa can be consulted on the Air Europa website in the section dedicated to Air Europa SUMA.

The number of Miles to be earned with our partners, airlines and other partners can be found on the page dedicated to each of them. Miles at partners are earned by using the services of the Air Europa SUMA Programme Partner Airlines.

Promotional Miles refer to those assigned to the Air Europa SUMA customer's account for specific promotional actions, such as welcome Miles to the Programme or periodic route bonus campaigns with Miles. The earning of Miles is nominal and personal, and is the property of the Air Europa SUMA Customer.

In order to obtain the Miles, the Air Europa SUMA customer, at the time of booking the service that entitles him/her to Miles or paying for it, must duly identify him/herself by means of his/her Air Europa SUMA number, which will be given to him/her with the e-mail confirming registration in the Programme. Both Air Europa and Programme Partner personnel may ask the participant for a document accrediting their identity.

It will not be possible to obtain Miles if the Air Europa SUMA customer does not indicate the Air Europa SUMA number provided for this purpose by the Programme in each booking operation, service contracting or Miles request process. In this case, neither Air Europa nor the associated companies will be responsible in any case for this circumstance. The responsibility for identification lies with the Air Europa SUMA customer.

The Miles obtained through the purchase of airline tickets will not be credited to the Air Europa SUMA customer's account until after having flown or enjoyed the contracted service and provided that the Air Europa SUMA customer has previously indicated his/her Air Europa SUMA number.

The benefits offered by the Air Europa SUMA Programme are compatible and can be accumulated with those of the Air Europa Companies Programme, so that the same flight will mean the accumulation of the corresponding Miles for the Air Europa SUMA customer and, if applicable, Points for the company in the Air Europa Companies Programme. For the other participating "Partners" the identification must be made at the time of payment of the service provided or the purchase of a product.

Under no circumstances will tickets, services or products obtained with Miles generate, in turn, SUMA Miles, Air Europa Business Programme Points or any other additional benefit generated by any product offered by Air Europa. 

Similarly, SUMA Miles will not be earned on Air Europa flights operated by airlines that do not belong to the SkyTeam Alliance or those operated by any airline with which Air Europa SUMA does not have a frequent flyer agreement. The list of airlines with which SUMA Miles can be earned is published in Our partners.

Miles will be earned on flights actually flown. If a flight is suspended for any reason stipulated in the Carrier Contract, including force majeure or for security reasons, and passengers fly with another carrier, Miles will not be earned.

Miles may be redeemed for the following products or services:

• Air Europa flights.
• Flights operated by SkyTeam Alliance airlines.
• Flights operated by airlines associated with the SUMA programme.
• Products or services offered by non-airline partners of the Air Europa SUMA programme.

Awards shall be issued subject to identification of the Air Europa SUMA member and sufficient balance in their Miles account.

Only SUMA customers can redeem Miles, even if a third party benefits from the awarding of Miles.

Miles and cash can be combined to pay for Air Europa awards.

Any unauthorised use of the Miles shall constitute a breach of these Terms and Conditions.

Air Europa SUMA members should check the Miles table regularly when redeeming Miles for awards. Air Europa and partner companies affiliated with the Programme reserve the right to modify this table at any time, without the need to give any prior notice. However, they undertake to provide details of any modifications to the terms and conditions of products and services on the Air Europa website (www.aireuropa.com).

Miles shall only be redeemable by the SUMA Customer, notwithstanding that the services requested may be enjoyed by the same or by the person expressly designated.  Air Europa SUMA reserves the right to make the pertinent verifications to ensure compliance with this condition.

Flight reservations and issuance of tickets charged with Miles must be made at www.aireuropa.com or by calling the Air Europa SUMA Call Center, 911 360 360 200. The Miles that the award ticket will cost on Air Europa will depend on the fare available at any given time. Air Europa reserves the right to modify this sales process at any time, without prior notice.

The Miles required to obtain a ticket with Air Europa charged to the Miles will vary depending on the age of the person in whose name the ticket is to be issued.

Thus, minors up to two years of age (not yet two years old) will pay 10% of the fare in Miles for the adult and minors from two years of age up to twelve years of age (not yet twelve years old) will receive the same discount established for retail tickets, bearing in mind that this discount depends on the route to be flown and the fare of the ticket.

When redeeming Miles, the discounts for residents of the Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla and large families will only apply in the mixed payment mode and in the part paid in cash. These discounts will never apply to the part paid with Miles.

The issuance of a ticket charged with Miles is conditioned to the existence of balance in the customer's Air Europa SUMA account and the availability of seats, without any restriction as to the dates on which they can be used. This type of tickets must always be confirmed, being not allowed to be issued on a waiting list.

The possibility of reimbursement and date and route changes for tickets issued in mixed payment mode will depend on whether the booking class allows it.

Award tickets (issued in class X or O) do not allow reimbursement and will only allow date and route changes up to 48 hours prior to flight departure.

In cases of denied boarding to the Air Europa SUMA customer, the same rules as for paid tickets shall apply to this type of ticket.

The beneficiary of a ticket charged to SUMA Miles must properly identify himself/herself at the ticket sales offices at the airports if so required by Air Europa personnel.

The Air Europa SUMA customer is obliged to pay any airport taxes, fees, taxes or airport public services payable and/or payable at airports, management fees and any other type of expense, charges or costs that may be applied as a consequence of carrying out operations charged to the Miles accumulated in his/her account.

Under no circumstances may tickets charged with Miles be reimbursed in cash. 

Tickets redeemed for Air Europa SUMA Program Miles will always be subject to the General Conditions of Carriage of the Airline and other internal regulations.

The services charged with Miles may be issued in the name of the person designated by the Air Europa SUMA client, it not being necessary that he/she be, in turn, an Air Europa SUMA client.

The Air Europa SUMA customer must consult the Miles table in order to redeem them for air or non air service.

Air Europa reserves the right to modify this table at any time, in which case it will be updated indicating the effective date on the Air Europa website in the Air Europa SUMA section.

The services available for redeeming SUMA Miles will be available for flying with airlines associated to the Program and for other products or services included in the Air Europa SUMA Program.

The confirmation of a reservation of any of the services offered is conditioned to the existence of balance in the Air Europa SUMA customer's account and the availability of a seat on the flight or service requested, without any restriction as to the dates on which they can be used.

If there are any date restrictions, they will be specified in detail.

The confirmation of the services charged with Miles will be made at the same time of issuance, not being possible to make reservations in waiting list or reservations to be confirmed after the date of issuance.

No changes or refunds can be made for services booked with Miles.

The beneficiary of a service charged with Miles must properly identify himself/herself at the establishment if so required by the staff.

Air Europa reserves the right to cancel the Air Europa SUMA Program and to modify its conditions at any time and without prior notice. The cancellation of the Program does not generate any right or indemnity in favor of Air Europa SUMA customers belonging to the Air Europa SUMA Program. Air Europa will not be responsible, in any case, for any damages that may arise as a result of the cancellation or alteration of the Air Europa SUMA Program. 

The Air Europa SUMA customer shall not be liable for any damages that may arise as a result of the cancellation or alteration of the Air Europa SUMA Program.

The Air Europa SUMA customer will have the right, in case of cancellation of the Air Europa SUMA Program by Air Europa, to redeem within three months the existing Miles in your account. Once this period has elapsed, it will be understood that the Miles have expired.

Air Europa will not be liable for the cancellation of the Air Europa SUMA Program.

Air Europa is not responsible for the impossibility of carrying out the Air Europa SUMA Program when it is due to legal impositions or force majeure.

The Air Europa SUMA Program allows membership only to individuals regardless of their nationality as long as they meet the requirements for registration with Air Europa SUMA.

The Air Europa SUMA Program is not responsible for the impossibility to carry out the Air Europa SUMA Program when it is due to legal impositions or force majeure.

The responsibility of the Air Europa SUMA Program and of Air Europa is limited, in any case, to the booking in the customer's Air Europa SUMA account of the Miles that correspond in each case in accordance with the rules for earning Miles in force in each case and to the redemption of these in accordance with these Conditions.

Neither Air Europa nor the Air Europa SUMA Program will be responsible for: 

  • Damages, losses or damages of any nature (including legal and attorney's fees) arising from a claim of any nature whatsoever, if for technical reasons or in accordance with the legislation in force in each case there are prohibitions, limitations or restrictions, by which the Program could not provide all the services foreseen.
  • Possible claims of any kind deriving, directly or indirectly, from the relations (contractual or otherwise) between Air Europa SUMA customers and the Companies Participating in the Program (Partners), for the use/acquisition/acquisition of the services provided by the Program; n/acquisition of services/products of such companies, and regardless of whether such relationship had occurred in an operation of obtaining or using Program Miles.

Air Europa SUMA reserves the right to carry out, at any time and without prior notice, checks on the accounts of the participants in the Program, with special attention to the correct earning of Miles, the use of Miles and the use of Awards based on Air Europa SUMA services or services of associated Partners in accordance with these Conditions. In addition, Air Europa SUMA reserves the right to claim damages caused by improper use of the card, Miles or Awards.

AIR EUROPA SUMA reserves the right to exclude members from the Program, cancel cards and cancel accrued Miles that have not been redeemed at the time the exclusion is notified, as well as to cancel previously earned Awards that have not yet been used if participants do not comply with all of these Conditions or if their conduct does not comply with the law, the General Conditions of Carriage, the General Conditions of Carriage, the General Terms and Conditions of Carriage, the General Conditions of Carriage, the General Conditions of Carriage, the General Conditions of Carriage, the General Conditions of Carriage, the General Conditions of Carriage, the General Conditions of Carriage, the General Conditions of Carriage, the General Conditions of Carriage, the General Conditions of Carriage, the General Conditions of Carriage and the General Conditions of Carriage; n, the General Conditions of Carriage of the airline or airline partners, or more generally, any other applicable regulations, provisions or actions that may cause damage to the Program or the Program's partners. The  Program  also  have  the  right  to  suspend  the participant's participation if objective evidence exists, while they take the necessary time to investigate the case. While investigations are being carried out, the member in question will not be able to use Miles or enjoy the benefits and services associated with the Program.

The Air Europa customer will not be able to use Miles or enjoy the benefits and services associated with the Program.

The Air Europa SUMA customer shall be liable to Air Europa for any fraudulent or fraudulent action that may result from the use of the Program, as well as for possible claims of any kind arising, directly or indirectly, from the breach of any of these Conditions. In this case, Air Europa may claim, demand compensation for damages and/or exclude from the Program the Air Europa SUMA customer who breaches any of these Conditions.

These General Conditions shall be governed, fulfilled and executed in accordance with Spanish Law.

For any question that may arise in the interpretation and application of these General Conditions, the parties, expressly waiving any other jurisdiction that may correspond to them, expressly submit to the jurisdiction of the courts and tribunals of Palma de Mallorca.

The personal data processed by Air Europa will be processed in accordance with the provisions of our Privacy Policy.

Likewise, we inform you that by redeeming the points accumulated in the Air Europa SUMA loyalty programme for services provided by the different collaborators that form part of the programme at any given time, your data will be sent to the collaborator of your choice and, by the same act, you accept the conditions of service that the collaborator has established.

For those participants under 18 years of age in the Air Europa SUMA Loyalty Programme, the parents and/or legal guardians must expressly authorise the collection and processing of the minor's personal data for the purposes described above. The processing of personal data will only be possible if Air Europa SUMA receives by e-mail the present declaration correctly completed and signed by the parent or legal guardian of the minor, accompanied by a copy of the national identity document (DNI) of the parent or legal guardian, as well as the Family Book or similar document that accredits legal representation. All the required documentation must be sent to suma@air-europa.com.

Failure to submit a copy of these documents together with the declaration will result in the exclusion of the child from participation in the Air Europa SUMA loyalty programme.

The cardholder is duly informed and consents that the companies linked to the Air Europa SUMA Loyalty Programme may process the personal data provided, in their capacity as data processors, in order to develop the different commercial agreements that Air Europa has signed with said third parties, aimed at the members of the Air Europa SUMA Loyalty Programme, as well as to guarantee the correct provision of the services inherent to the same. The companies with which Air Europa SUMA has commercial agreements that collaborate with this Loyalty Programme can be consulted in our partners.
