General Documentation

The valid documentation needed to fly varies according to multiple factors, including nationality, origin and destination.

Domestic flights

  • National ID or Passport (can be expired)
  • Driving licence issued in Spain (1)

(1) A driving licence is only valid for domestic flights within the country issuing the document.

EU/Schengen flights

  •  Valid, non-expired National ID or Passport.

Spanish nationals travelling to Germany, Austria, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Portugal, Sweden and Switzerland can travel with a passport even if it has expired within the past five years.

United Kingdom

Flights from October 1.

  • Non-expired passport.
  • Permit or visa if the destination requires it.

Third countries

  • Non-expired passport.
  • Permit or visa if the destination requires it.

Cuba

  • Valid passport and tourist visa (obtained from Embassies, Consulates or authorised agencies).
  • All visitors must hold medical insurance obtained in the country of origin to cover any medical expenses that may be incurred during their trip.

USA and Puerto Rico

Brazil

European Union nationalities + Andorra, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein and Switzerland.

Domestic flights (Spain)

  • Valid ID or Passport (can be expired)
  • Valid residence permit from Spain or a Schengen Country
  • Driving licence (1)

EU/Schengen

  • Valid ID or Passport
  • If the passenger is a minor and is flying unaccompanied or with people other than their parents/tutors, they must go to the corresponding consulate to authenticate the documentation and permissions. In addition, a signed form provided by our staff at the airport must be presented, indicating that child has been handed over.

United Kingdom

Flights from October 1.

  • Non-expired passport.
  • Permit or visa if the destination requires it.

Third countries

  • Passport.
  • Visa or travel permit if required.
  • If the passenger is a minor and is flying unaccompanied or with people other than their parents/tutors, they must go to the corresponding consulate to authenticate the documentation and permissions. SAFETY ASSISTANT

Trained companion

It will not be necessary to fly with a trained companion if the passenger can act individually in the event of an emergency and is over 12 years of age on domestic flights or 15 years of age on international flights.
