What to See in Tel Aviv
Tel Aviv (TLV) has embraced change and become a modern destination. When you visit, you may be surprised by the lively restaurants, bars and nightlife. Spend your time relaxing in the sun at Gordon Beach or Park Hayarkon or shop for bargains at the Jaffa flea market. Expand your mind at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art or the Palmach Museum with its interactive historic exhibits. End your day in the city centre with a drink and a meal or head out to a club and dance all night.
Attractions in Israel
Of course, there’s plenty to enjoy outside of Tel Aviv, so if you’re looking to extend your trip, you won’t be short of options!
- Dead Sea: Spend a day floating in the Dead Sea or use the mineral mud to give yourself a body treatment. This salt lake is the lowest place on earth, and offers an experience like no other.
- Masada: Take a cable car up to this ancient fortress and ruins. Explore the exhibits, such as King Herod’s Palace and a Roman bathhouse dating back to 30 BC.
- Mount Zion: This religious site is located just outside of the walled city of Old Jerusalem. You can also visit the old city while here and pray at the site of pilgrimage or just enjoy the picturesque city.
The Weather in Israel
Winter runs between November and March, and snow falls in some parts of Israel. Summer, which lasts between June and August, is a very popular time of year to visit. There is little chance of rain and temperatures heat up a few degrees. To avoid the crowds however, visit in the spring or winter.
